If you have decided to choose Sloan Dental to cater for you and your family’s dental care, we want to say thank you by serving you to the very best of our ability. In order to do this, our administrative staff will take steps to procure your pre-existing dental records from your existing dentist. However, in order to get as thorough an overview as possible of your existing oral health, we will also invite you to a new patient examination.
At Sloan Dental, making a great first impression is hugely important to us. This is why when you arrive with us for your new patient examination, you will be greeted by our reception staff and orientated around our spacious and comfortable waiting area. We will then invite you into one of our consultation rooms, where you will finally get to meet your new dentist and his or her assistants for the first time.
Of course, we know that visiting the dentist can be stressful for some people. This is why your new patient examination will always start with an informal introduction and chat so that you can get to know us and we can get to know you a little better.
NHS fees are the same for every dental practice in Scotland and are available upon request. A copy of our private fees is available in the practice.
Our practices are opened from the early hours until early evening so we can be sure to have an appointment available for everyone.
Here at Sloan Dental, we are proud of the 12-month guarantee that we offer with all our Private and NHS treatments.
Patients who are members of the Sloan Dental Payment Plan are entitled to 20% off the normal cost of all private treatments. “Bishopton Practice Only.”
A: During your new patient examination, we want you to simply be yourself and give us a rundown of what problems you have had in the past, as well as what oral health problems you might be experiencing at the present time. Aside, however, from just discomfort-inducing problems such as suspected cavities, your new patient examination is the perfect opportunity to inform our Sloan dental team of any aesthetic concerns which you might have.
A: After discussing your past and present oral health, your new Sloan dentist will move on to the physical exam stage finally.
During this time he or she will:
Undertake a functional exam to evaluate your occlusion (bite),
Examine your jaw for signs of pain and limited motion,
Examine your teeth on a tooth by tooth basis for signs of decay,
Check for gaps and tooth misalignments,
Check for signs of periodontal gum disease,
Check for signs of different inflammatory gum problems,
Conduct a cosmetic assessment of your teeth and lip & gum dynamics.
A: After we have concluded your new patient examination, we will have a thorough understanding of your present oral health. Our dental team can then use this information to start planning any cosmetic or oral health treatments which you might require. Even better, if we spot any serious problems, we will do what we can to start remedying these right away.
Of course, the most important thing for us is that you feel physically comfortable and 100% happy with the service which you receive from us. This being the case, let us help you discover friendlier and more attentive dental care, and if you haven’t already, inquire now about scheduling your own new patient examination.
